They initiated free skiing for those 70 and over in 1978, the year Sepp Ruschp turned 70. I remember him standing in my office (I worked for his successor, Vern Johnson, at the time) and making the announcement. I don’t know when they took that benefit away but I am guessing sometime after his death in 1990
