What ski area had the first ski gondola in the United States?

Wildcat had the 1st gondola in the US. I remember viewing it on an early hike to Tuckerman’s. It was a 2 passenger, and was pretty rickety when I first visited Wildcat. I think I was visiting someone from the area.
