Hi Greg
I think it is great that you have started this blog and are doing a weekly column in the Stowe Reporter. FYI. If you have any interest in publishing any old Stowe and ski area photos I wanted you to know that I have a pretty good collection that is fully digitized. I could make you a disk if you wanted and you are free to publish anything as long as you credit the source. You should also be aware that Brian Lindner (blindner@nationallife.com) a patroller who I’m sure you know also has an extensive collection. Mike Leach (mlleachvt@yahoo.com) is also a good source for old MMSC photos and newsletters that he has digitized for the club. Check out samples on this link http://www.teammmsc.org/Newsletterspage.asp I can be reached at home 244-5587 or cell 343-0156. Let me know if you want me to make a disk and I can bring it to the mountain and hand it to you. Greg Dirmaier
As for my answer to your quiz question I say Gilberts Hill in Woodstock. 1934ish?
Thanks for the support! I am definitely interested in the photos so I will be in touch. My e-mail is gmorrill@retro-skiing.com. I do know Brian, but was not aware that Mike Leach maintained such a nice history resource. So thanks again for your help.
