Dolomite! The location was also a distribution point for Kastle Skis. At that time, I lived across the street (Sand Hill Rd) from them. A mutual friend of ours was the manager of the operation.

Hi Greg,
First, thanks for what you do, I LOVE your column! So I wasn’t first with the correct answer this time, but at least I got in before my pal Dave “Sticks” Carter, who clearly has too much free time on his hands! As Pat said before me: Dolomite! I made a few trips up to the Sand Hill Road location back in the day when I worked at Front Four Sports in Stowe. While I never owned any Dolomite boots (my feet weren’t quite the right shape for them) I fit quite a few customers in them. How about the “Secret Weapon” models that came up almost all the way to the knees? I think if you weren’t careful when driving forward to initiate a turn you’d probably end up doing a full U-turn and heading back uphill! Thanks again Greg, and remember to always keep the P-Tex side down!
