Greg: As an old skier (Williams ski team 1957-61) I enjoy your piece in the Stowe Reporter very much. I am pretty sure that Marc Girardelli won his medals on the rear entry Soloman S-X 90 Equipe boots. I had a pair of these bright orange beauties for over 30 years and tears streamed down my face when they finally broke. When my ski pals mocked me I pointed to Girardelli’s record as a rebuttal. I was out the door and on the lift while they struggled to put on their 4 buckle boots and also out the door while they struggled to take theirs off. Why they stopped making these wonderful boots I will never know. Luckily I have found some Nordica rear entries but they are no match for the S-X 90’s.
