Graduated length method?

I was around 12 when I learned to ski and I remember GLM (graduated length method) as something reasonably new at the time – I think it was mentioned in Bob Beattie’s “Learn to Ski” book that I had . No snowplows or stem-christies – you start parallel right away on short skis. Too late! I had a pair of 170 Fischer Quick Supers with Cubco bindings and I had to go at it the old-fashioned way – with more than a few spills to build character.

Graduated length method. My mom was way ahead of her time in the 60’s. She would cut down her own skis for a short skis. Jim Shepherd at Jim Shepherd ski shop would do it for her.
