The Shed was operating when I first arrived in Vermont. I thought it had been there only a few years, so I’ll guess it opened in 1965/66. At my first visit it was still as rustic as legend has it.
Many good times there over the years.
OMG-i got thru finally-the paper doesn’t arrive till Fri so i’m late but i had my 1st drink in the Shed in 1965 when i was in school there at 16 with a friend from our ski lodge =the Ski Hostel lodge in waterbury ctr. I had 3-7&7’s & made 20 runs the next AM on the Mt-lol! I later tended bar for Kenny in 1978 & then my kids worked for him!
Hi Greg,
The Shed first opened in 1965. This was 2 years after the Alpine Shop opened in 1963. Ken Strong and Ted Ross were the two great guys that opened The Shed. Ted Ross was a ski rep that sold us some ski line at the Alpine Shop, but I do not remember what ski line it was. Ken Strong was a ski bum and a ski instructor, as I remember. Time marches on!
