Mikaela Shiffrin has an excellent chance to become the third American woman to win the overall World Cup. Of course Lindsey Vonn is one of the other two. What other American woman won the overall World Cup?

Hi, Greg.
Tamara McKinney!
I wish I could say I’m really smart but one of my friends–Scott Cragle from Allentown, PA–had just sent me an article about her–see below. So give the credit to him.
Best,
Tom Hubbs

You drive me crazy with your questions – I KNEW who was the powder guru- skied with him at Alta in ’60’s and he took my late late husband up on the classic steepest runs – but I couldn’t remember his NAME. The latest has also given this tired old brain a run. I came up with Picabo Street but find that Tom Hubbs has given Tamara. Should have known – skied with her at Squaw with ISHA group. Oh well. Here’s one for you: who was the legendary, crazy skier who predated and probably influenced Bode Miller and did influence “Downhill Skier”, and should have been named to the ’56 Cortina team? Or am I the only one left who goes back that far?

Yes – wanted people to remember him. There were three of us non-teamers who skied together in Cortina and St. Anton afterwards- Dick, Toni Spiis and me.
